Animal Print X2

Last week when I was wearing my animal print belt, my friend told me to just go for it and wear my new leopard belt and shoes.  I told her I wasn't ready for that yet.  But today I took the plunge and wore both, and I LOVE it. It adds such visual interest to my otherwise boring outfit.  I am also exposing my legs for the first time this year (wow do I need some sun).

Mixing Colors

I am trying very hard to add dimension to my outfits, which includes adding different colors.  Today I added turquoise to my raspberry colored top.  This is something new for me.  I think it turned out good, I'm excited to see what else I come up with!

The Power of Animal Print

Happy Friday!  I built this outfit around my new shoes (I'm in love).  I am still getting a handle on what can be worn with animal print.  I know everyone says you can wear it with anything, but I'm going to need to ease myself into that.  This outfit is something I have never worn together, I have never paired this Olive green blazer (apparently olive is a neutral...still getting used to that as well), with a dark teal shirt.  And I wore it with a necklace I just picked up from New York & Co (they have some great jewelry there), it also is something I wouldn't normally buy, but I kept seeing people wearing white larger necklaces so I thought I would try it!  What do you wear with your animal prints?

Very Casual vs. Frumpy

I have a hard time being very casually dressed without feeling frumpy.  My husband always says to me "just wear jeans and a t-shirt".  But if we're going somewhere there is no way I'd just wear jeans and a t-shirt.  Today I was able to come to work very casual, (now my version of very casual might be very different from someone else's version),  but I still can't help but feel a bit frumpy.  What do you wear to be casual?  What is your definition of frumpy?

Going out on a limb

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I probably won't need to wear tights again this season.  Yesterday I wore tights because I just wasn't ready for my legs to see the world.  Baby steps...today I went with no tights and boots, I have to ease myself into it.  I have already started using the tanning lotion to give my legs a boost of color, so they don't shock anyone!

The Cobalt Bandwagon

I wanted to jump on the cobalt bandwagon (Cobalt is March's color of the month, accordingly to Beauty and the Budget), so I picked up this skirt at Target.  I wasn't sure what to wear with it, so I paired it with black this time.  I have to look around at my favorite blogs to find out what others are wearing with their cobalt. What do you wear with your cobalt?
P.S. Just as a side note, I did end up wearing tights with this after realizing I am not quite ready to show so much skin. Even though it's warm here in the Midwest it is still March

Editing

A couple of weeks ago Elephants & Owls did a blog post about something I do all the time, which is editing your clothes.  In this case Kellie in "Magic Monday", mentioned that the top she was wearing was too long, so she tied it up in the back and really liked the way it looked.

This is something I do all the time, I edit my own clothes to fit the outfit.  Today the top I am wearing is somewhat big, so it gives me the look of being pregnant (which I am not) so I tucked in the back and Viola! I have a more fitted shirt.  I also tend to do this A LOT with my jewelry.  I will make a necklace shorter or longer by either tying the chain to make it shorter or adding an extension pieces to make the necklace longer.  This way I can customize my jewelry with my outfit!  What do you edit in your closet?
